Everyone's skin is different. Know your skin type to make it healthy and beautiful.The skin contains many different cells and structures and it constantly changes as layers are shed and replaced by other layers. Categorize your skin:
Normal Skin: It is the balanced and healthy skin. When the pores are of uniform size and barely visible, they receive ample supply of blood and other nutrients. Without proper care, even the best skin will fade. Proper maintenance will keep the skin healthy and youthful.
Oily Skin: This occurs to many during puberty. The disadvantage of this skin type is they produce blackheads and other unpleasant eruptions.
Dry Skin: This type of skin suffers from lack of oil and the result is aging of skin. Premature aging also occurs due to exposure to the sun without adequate care and protection.

an your face with a mild soap before going to sleep and conduct this test when you get up in the morning. Your tool to test is a piece of paper. Typing paper, or a thin brown wrapping paper will do. Cut the paper into strips, an inch or so wide by two or three inches long. Take one peice of paper and stick it to the center of your forehead. If you have an oily skin it will probably stick. If it doesn't stick, gently wipe the center of your fore head with it. See if there is any oily spot. Repeat the same process on each side of the forehead, on the nose, and on the chin. If you find no oily spots then your skin is dry and possibly dehydrated. Follow the same procedure on inner and outermost part of the cheek, outer portions of the chin, jawline, and the neck.

Dry Skin: Paper may not stick anywhere and no oily spots.
This procedure seems pretty silly but you are not required to wait long or walk around the skin clinics to know your individual skin type. This is painless, inexpensive, can be conducted in privacy and takes only few minutes. Now you can go ahead and select your lotion and soaps that suits your skin.
