Podi Thuval: A traditional dish poriyal from tamilnadu made with a blend of spices and fresh vegetables with juice and flavour.
Poriyal or a vegetable dish is a tamilnadu dish and is prepared by shallow frying with or without masala. It is generally a side dish but could also be eaten with steamed rice.
How to prepare the Podi:
Roast 2 teaspoon of gram dal, 2 teaspoon of urad dal, a pinch of hing, 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds, and 7 nos of red chilies in little oil. Allow it to cool and grind it coarsly in a mixer or coffee grinder.
Vendaikai podi thuval: Clean and dry 20 nos of small and tender ladies finger. Split i
t in the middle into four or two vertically without breaking. Fry these ladiesfinger with salt to taste in little oil. when cooked add the powder and fry for 2 more minutes in low flame.This will go well with Curd rice and also with Steamed rice.
